A Brief Look at Our History

About 15 years ago, Pastor Dan Fox planted Christian Life Assembly in an already existing building. He was here about 8 years in which the church grew and also purchased land on Springhouse Road under his leadership. The current pastor is Eric Miller. In July 2001, Pastor Eric arrived in Allentown with his wife Stephanie, daughter Katy, and son Julian. In the last 7 years, many renovations have taken place (physically and spiritually), and the church has moved to Catasauqua Middle School to facilitate the fulfillment of the mission God has given us.

A Basic Definition of the Church

In general, the church is people who make up the Body of Christ. In the original language of the New Testament, the word we translate as church literally means "called out ones," the followers of Jesus Christ. A local body of followers of Jesus is also called a church. This means that the people are the church and the building is simply where the church meets. In other words, we believe that the building is not the house of God but rather the gathering place of the church.

    The Mission of ValleyChurch

Our mission at ValleyChurch is to lead people into an encounter with God, to see lives transformed by Him, and then to multiply God’s love and grace to others.

    Encounter – Transform – Multiply

Encounter: We seek and expect to encounter God corporately, in smaller groups, and individually. We desire to experience God’s presence in our church, our families, and our personal lives.

Transform: We commit to actively and intentionally become more and more like Jesus Christ. We desire transformation for our church, our families, and our lives. We believe that transformation is not only possible, but that it is God’s desire for us.

Multiply: We will multiply to others the love, grace, hope, and forgiveness God has given to us, through word and deed. We will live beyond ourselves both inside and outside the church.

We believe this follows the model of Jesus Christ and the New Testament very closely.
